Homecoming - National Fund Breakfast at Hart House
October 31, 1959
Interior views of Hart House Great Hall where the National Fund breakfast was held. It was one of five National Fund breakfasts held for canvassers as part of the official launch of the campaign. The Hart House breakfast was televised by closed-circuit television to the remaining satellite breakfasts at Victoria College, Trinity College, St. Michael's College, and Howard Ferguson Hall. Included are shots of the head table featuring Toronto Mayor Nathan Phillips, University President Claude Bissel, and National Fund Chairmen N.J. McKinnon, Lt.-Col. W.E. Phillips, and M. W. McCutcheon
guest tables, and event speakers. Also included are shots of McCutcheon and McKinnon presenting a key to Walter McLean, President of the Students' Administrative Council, to symbolize the opening of new doors for students.
