It was chaired by Acting President Jack Sword who was flanked by the Commission's spokespersons, Dr. Reva Gerstein and Dr. Douglas Wright. The University was represented by John Robson, Principle of University College and Prof Arthur Kruger of Political Economy. Photographs show discussion and debate among those present in the packed auditorium.

Photographs document the first public hearing of the Commission on Post-Secondary Education in Ontario where, a six person delegation of the University of Toronto Faculty Association presented a brief protesting many of the proposals of the Commission's draft report. The delegation, which wrote and presented the brief included: Professor James Conacher, president of UTFA, William B. Dunphy of St. Michael's College, Michael Finlayson from the Department of History, Arthur Kruger from Political Economy, R.M.H. Sheppard from Classics, W.H.Smith from Electrical Engineering and G. R. Williams form Biochemistry (this last delegate was not present at this meeting).
