Description: McGibbon was the first woman President of the University of Toronto Alumni Association and was also the first woman to be elected, in 1971, to the post of Chancellor at the University of Toronto. In 1974 she became Ontario's 22nd Lieutenant Governor, a post she held until 1980. In 1981 she was made a Companion of the Order of Canada. McGibbon died in December, 2001.
