Photographs taken during the University of Toronto's "welcome home" reception given in honour of Professor Marshall McLuhan's return from Fordham in 1968. The party was held at the University President's home in Rosedale. Decorations were the works of Professor Peter Pragnell and his team from the Faculty of Architecture. The "God-bless-you-Marshall-McLuhan" buttons were worn by all the guests. Some people in attendance were: Dr. Floyd Chalmers, Chancellor of York, Robert F. Chisholm of Varsity's Board of Governors, Principal Donald Ivey of New College with Sydney Hermant (a U of T governor), and Mrs. Hermant, Professor Peter Pragnell of the Faculty of Architecture, Frank Shuster and his wife, Mrs. Bissell, Johnny Wayne, Principle Wynne Plumptre of Scarborough College, Honourable Mr. Justice Bora Laskin, Rev. J. M. Kelly, President of St. Michael's, Dr. Robertson Davies, Master of Massey College, Dr. D. Carlton Williams, the president of University of Western Ontario and Mrs. Williams, Ernest Sirluck, Morley Callaghan and Professor W.A.C.H. Dobson.
