The class was a segment of a 7-part Saturday morning lecture series organized by Professor A. I. Johnson. The series was offered by the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering to introduce approximately 200 high school students to topics such as automation, space flight potential of atomic energy, metallurgy, rock mechanics, cellulose chemistry, paper making, three-dimensional photography, and the use of engineering models.

Views of the official opening of the 4,000 Years of Mexican Architecture Exhibition that was given to the University of Toronto's Architectural Society as a gift from the Mexican Consulate. The exhibit featured around 400 photographs of Mexican architecture and was originally prepared by the National Architects College of Mexico and the Society for Mexican Architects. Included are shots of the opening ceremony where Senor Rafael de la Colina, Ambassador of Mexico opened the exhibition with Dr. Thomas Howarth, Director of the School of Architecture, Murray Ross, President of the Architectural Society, and Antonio Carrillo Flores, Mexican Statesman as well as shots of attendees including third-year student Helga Woitech.
