Senate Chamber - organizational meeting for alumni giving
Views of a meeting in the Senate Chamber of Simcoe to purpose a plan for the creation of an annual All-Varsity Alumni fund. This integrated fund would replace any campaigns run by individual Alumni groups. The meeting was attended by the board of directors of the University of Toronto Alumni Association, presidents of several Alumni groups, deans and heads of Colleges and Divisions, and several leaders of the National Fund. The canvassers of the School of Nursing committee, headed by Mrs. M. Views of National Fund workers and lighting sketch artist George Freyer at a cocktail party in the Crystal Ballroom at the King Edward Hotel. The party was hosted by National Fund Co-Chairmen M. Wallace McCutcheon and Neil J. McKinnon to announce the grand total of the National Fund was $15,026,424. George Freyer was invited to draw a series of lighting sketch cartoons to accompany a script by Miss Pat Patterson which told the story of the National Fund.

Interior views of a ceremony at the Senate Chamber honoring National Fund Co-Chairmen M. Wallace McCutcheon and Neil J. McKinnon. During the ceremony Lt. Col. W. E. Philips, Chairman of the Board of Governors, unveiled a plaque dedicated to the Co-Chairmen which would be installed at one of the new buildings made possible by the National Fund. President Dr. Claude Bissell presented each co-chairmen with a volume of letters from the senior members of the University's staff expressing gratitude for their leadership in the Fund. Also included are shots of Deans Wright, MacFarlane, Bladen, and McLaughlin and the wives of McKinnon, McCutcheon, and Bissell in the audience.
