President Daniel Wilson was born in 1816 and died August 5, 1892. Wilson was President of University College from 1880 to 1892 and he was President of the University of Toronto from 1890 to 1892.

This photo was taken from a composite of the University of Toronto graduating class of 1899 when Clara Benson received her BA. Benson, a chemist, received a PhD in 1903. Benson and Emma Baker were the first women to receive PhDs from the University. Benson belonged to the Faculty of Household Science from 1905 to 1945. Clara Benson and Annie Laird were the first women professors at the University.
